Road
The
district is well served by a network of good roads and has been called the motorists
paradise. The chief roads emanating from Chatra town are -
Chatra - Hunterganj -
Dobhi
Chatra - Itkhori - Chauparan
Chatra - Bagara - Balumath - Ranchi
Chatra - Simaria - Hazaribagh
Chatra - Tandwa - Piparwar
Chatra - Itkhori - Hazaribagh
The year 2001 is very important in the sense of construction of roads for Chatra
district. The Public Works
Department (PWD) roads are
from
Gosaindih - Gaunie; Bagra - Simaria - Bagodar.
The old district board road are National Highway nos. 99, 99A and 100.
The PWD road comprises of 134.5 Kms. of black
top roads. The 219.89 Kms. of Rural Engineering Office
(REO) roads.
Chatra district has good number of metalled roads and almost all the block
headquarters are connected by such
roads.
Railway
Chatra
can be approached from Gaya Railway station of Bihar. The boundaries of Chatra district
on Gaya.
Chatra is at Gosaindih about 40 Kms from Chatra.
Chatra is approachable
from Koderma Railway station via Barhi, Chauparan, Itkhori distant at about 100 Kms.
Chatra is approachable from Ranchi via Chandwa in Balumath in Latehar
district .
The
rail - line will pass through the Chatra district when Koderma - Ranchi via Hazaribagh railway line is
completed and it will touch three major
villages of the district namely Majhgain , Bandgaon and Ratarua
Airways
The
site selection for aerodrome is presently under process. At present, Chatra is not
connected by airway. The
nearest aerodrome is Gaya (International Airport) , Ranchi and Hazaribagh. |
